Designers Include Flattering Features in Tankini Bathing Suits

Anne Cole is a designer of women's apparel who created the tankini swimsuit. She was looking for more coverage for her daughter's delicate skin than the average two-piece bathing suit gave and decided that a tank top offered the coverage she was looking for. She coupled this with a bikini style bottom. This style became a success for children very quickly so Anne Cole decided to incorporate women's and junior's sizes into the line.

Since this time, many designers have joined Anne on center stage with their own flare and style of tankinis. Some of these designers have been inspired by the tropical islands of the world including Rio de Janeiro and Hawaii. The settings of these beaches inspired designers to include bright colors with different styles of the beachwear such as the bandeau and the halter. These two styles of different than the original design and are made in sizes for women, juniors and ladies.

When designers began to embellish on the tankini design, they also began considering some of women's unique problems and flaws as ideas for improving an already successful product. Delta Burke and Christina designs tankinis that use a unique blend of nylon and Lycra or Spandex to create the material for their bathing suits. Depending on the blend of these materials, you get a highly effective slimming and controlling fabric that allows women to don these bathing suits and feel much more confident in them.

Some designers like Liz Claiborne and Leilani have even incorporated underwires into their designs in order to give ladies more support in the bust. In some instances a cinched bust enhances the bust and draws attention away from areas that are less flattering. Cinching the sides of the tankini top allows women to shorten the tops according to their taste. Other flattering and slimming properties are designed into the beachwear for ladies that need to slim their hips and tummies. Some include padded and push up bras that are incorporated in the bust of junior's tops.

The tankini is more than simply a bathing suit. Many of these swimsuits took on the role of active wear. Surfers began wearing them because of their comfort while others wore them for the convenience. Many volleyball players began wearing them as an effective way of covering up while they participated in this active beach sport. Since athletes discovered their benefits along with their comfort, ladies around the world have indulged in outdoor activities. Many of these suits are appropriate for all kinds of outdoor activities like picnics and parties.

Anne Cole began this endeavor for the benefit of her daughters and introduced the world to one of the most beneficial and functional forms of women's beachwear available. Other designers added their embellishments to these swimsuits and gave women a whole new outlook on beachwear. For women who have had anxieties about swimwear, the tankini is a perfect solution. They get control, coverage and an active wear that is appropriate for almost any occasion.

Garage Sale Pricing - How to Price Kid's Clothing For a Garage Sale

!±8± Garage Sale Pricing - How to Price Kid's Clothing For a Garage Sale

Pricing items for a garage sale or a yard sale is one of the biggest headaches when preparing for your sale. It's always difficult to know what price tag to put on your treasures, you don't want to be overpriced, but you also don't want to give your items away too cheap! I'm going to share with you a few garage sale pricing tips for pricing children's clothing so you can get a little return on your investments!

First of all, if you have kids, you know that not all clothing is created equal! You are not going to want to sell that cute dress from Wal-Mart for the same price as the gorgeous dress you bought from Gymboree last Easter. You have to take into consideration the brand, age and condition when you are pricing garage sale items.

* Brand -- Popular selling brands are Gap, Gymboree, Limited Too, Children's Place, Janie & Jack, Hanna Andersson and other Boutique brands. You can put a higher price tag on these brands, especially if they are in great condition! People are usually willing to pay a little extra for these items, because they know what they sell for retail.
* Age -- The age of the clothing is also a factor to consider. The majority of clothing from 10 years ago will be considered outdated and not in style, this will drop your price a little. There are some exceptions to very popular name brands that are in excellent condition, like dresses, outfits or coats.
* Condition -- This is the most important consideration in pricing anything for a garage sale...the condition! So, even if you have a very popular last season, Gap outfit in a very popular girls size 6, if it has stains or tears, it is not going to be worth much. Again, your customers will be willing to spend a little extra on something that is in excellent condition because they know it will last. I believe it is worth that extra effort to keep your kid's name brand clothing in great shape!

Here are some pricing suggestions for children's clothing. These are prices that I see at sales in my area and prices that I use myself. These are guidelines, you may need to adjust them for your area. If you are uncertain about a price, jut use your best judgment and ask yourself "What would I pay for this?"

Below are 3 different prices, the first is a low price, then an average and finally a high price. A no-name brand in ok condition would be at the low end and a popular name brand in excellent condition would be at the high end. Falling into the average slot would be a decent name brand (Carter's, Oshkosh) in good condition.

They will, in return, want to shop a little longer and spend a little more!
